Scientist Positions at Qatar Center for AI

The Qatar Center for Artificial Intelligence (QCAI) invites applicants for the position of a Scientist with expertise within the AI and Data Science (AI&DS) research spectrum. We especially welcome applications in computer vision, bioinformatics, spatio-temporal computing, machine learning, data mining, data management and AI systems.

The responsibilities of a Scientist includes conducting research at the frontier of their discipline, fostering research collaboration and technology transfer with end-users of AI&DS systems, community outreach and service to the discipline. Additional responsibilities may include preparing and delivering specialized short courses and applying for competitive research grants.

Candidates are expected to have a PhD in computer science or a closely related discipline and have at least two years of work experience beyond their PhD. Fresh PhD graduates, with an exceptional track record, may also be considered. All candidates must have a track record of publishing in top-tier computer science conferences and journals. A Scientist position in QCAI, is on a permanent contract and is equivalent to a tenure-track Research Assistant Professor role in a top US institution. Salaries and benefits are internationally competitive.

QCAI is part of the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), an independent institute within Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar Foundation. QCRI was established in 2009 and has established itself as a world-class computer science research entity.
