Dr. Muhammad Imran has received the HBKU Research Excellence Award 2026 in recognition of his outstanding and internationally recognized research that upholds the highest standards of excellence, creativity, and innovation.

Dr. Imran leads the Crisis Computing Team at Qatar Computing Research Institute, HBKU, where his research focuses on developing and deploying AI-driven technologies to address urgent humanitarian challenges. His work advances the use of artificial intelligence for disaster response, crisis management, climate-related hazards, and the protection of vulnerable communities worldwide.
